Trundle and Cross | By Kate Barry
Trundle and Cross is an intuitive disassemblage of the confines of our constant digitally stimulated lives. Almost primitive in its colours and spontaneous in response to our natural surroundings and sensory internal dialogue, this work explores traces of nostalgia and the innate emotional re engagement with the energy of nature that is all around us.
Through paint on canvas I have tried to break through the periphery into a raw terrain of bold brushwork, purposeful mark making and vitality of colour that reignites the viewers’ connection with the eye navigating a series of paths which trundle across bush and through dry landforms. As we pass by we allow ourselves to be drawn in.
